Tips & Tricks #2 - Read the question carefully and underline the keywords
Hello Students. Welcome to Mystery In Chemistry’s Tips & Tricks series. Understanding chemistry and scoring high in exams are two different things and hence require different set of skills . Let us learn some tips to help you score 100/100 in chemistry.
So here is the second tip - Check the question No. and write it clearly, before writing the Answer in Answer- sheet.
To understand this tip, let's take an example. Here is Q.No. 5. What is the basic structural difference between glucose and fructose? Answer is quite simple. Recall- Glucose and fructose, generally present in fruits, but here the question is about structural difference. Here is glucose - open chain and cyclic structure. And fructose structure must be this one. Quite clear. You can write the answer. But wait a minute. Before writing the correct answer check the Question No. and write it clearly. So here it is Q.No. 5 write it first then answer. You know the answer so write it - Structural Difference between Glucose Fructose aldehyde group ketonic group It is an aldohexose It is a ketohexose Six-membered ring Five-membered ring Forms a pyranose ring structure Forms a furan ring structure Recall the Tip- check the Question number and write it clearly, before writing the correct answer. It looks simple but is very important. You are losing full marks for this question, even if the answer is right. Examiner is looking at the question No. first and then only he will check the answer. So, don't forget to write Q. No. before writing the Answer. Thank You.
