Tips & Tricks #4 - Choose your options quickly
Hello Students. Welcome to Mystery In Chemistry’s Tips & Tricks series. Understanding chemistry and scoring high in exams are two different things and hence require different set of skills. Let us learn some tips to score 100/100 in chemistry.
So here is the fourth tip - Choose your options quickly. To understand this take an example- here the question is- Why are medicines more effective in colloidal state? OR What is the difference between an emulsion and a gel? It is just a 1 mark question and you have to choose and answer any one of the questions. So don’t take more than 15 seconds to decide, which one you would like to answer. Both are related to colloidal solutions. Now in the first question i.e. - Why are medicines more effective in colloidal state? You can recall that - body fluids, blood and plasma are in colloidal state and if the medicine is taken in colloidal state, absorption and assimilation of the medicine will be easier. Next in the second question i.e. - What is the difference between an emulsion and a gel? You can recall that - in the colloidal solution dispersed phase and dispersion medium is present. In emulsion, both are liquid (like in milk) and in gel dispersion medium is solid and dispersed phase is liquid. So whatever question you choose to answer - choose quickly. If you are attempting both the questions or leaving the first question halfway and starting second one or taking too much time to answer a simple 1 mark question then it is not a proper utilization of your time. Therefore, quick decision is very important. Thank you.
